AB136 (a): Determination of Inorganic Counterions in Pharmaceutical Drugs Using Capillary IC

Instrument Type: IC

Approximately 50% of all drugs on the market are developed in salt forms. IC with suppressed conductivity detection plays an important role in the salt selection process to establish correct molecular mass of the entity in early stages of drug development. This study describes the determination of inorganic anions (a) and cations (b) in two different drugs using the capillary Thermo Scientific Dionex ICS-5000 system.

TN120: Fast Separations of Counter Ion in an Allergy Drug Tablet Using High-Pressure Capillary IC

Instrument Type: IC

This application demonstrates the advantages of high pressure capillary IC using the high efficiency Dionex IonSwift MAX 200 capillary size anion-exchange monolith column to provide high sample throughput by simply increasing the flow rate on a high pressure capable Dionex ICS-5000+ HPIC capillary IC, resulting in saving time and money. An ICS-6000 can be used for this application.

AB140: Fast Determination of Inorganic Counterions in a Pharmaceutical Drug Using High-Pressure Capillary Ion Chromatography

Instrument Type: IC

This application brief describes the determination of counter anion chloride in a drug for type 2 diabetes using the Thermo Scientific Dionex ICS-5000 capillary IC system and Dionex IonSwift MAX-100 capillary column. The Eluent Generation Cartridge lasts 18 months under this condition in continuous operation mode and each analysis is less than 8 min.

AN1002: Determination of Tartaric Acid in Tolterodine Tartrate Drug Products by IC with Suppressed Conductivity Detection (Carbonate/Bicarbonate Eluent)

Instrument Type: IC

This application demonstrates two faster IC methods that are accurate and reproducible for determination of tartrate in an encapsulated drug product containing the drug substance tolterodine tartrate which used to treat urinary incontinence caused by abnormal bladder contraction. Both methods use an electrolytic suppressor. The method shown here uses an IonPac AS22 column with carbonate/bicarbonate eluent and has an analysis time of 12 min.
